Fissure sealants are a thin coating that are applied to the fissures (grooves) of your teeth usually found on your back teeth (the permanent molars).

​The purpose of the fissure sealants is to stop tooth decay developing in these grooves – keeping food and germs out of the areas that can’t be reached by tooth brushing.
